Trinity Mother Frances Laboratory Services provide transfusion services and performs tests for all inpatient, outpatient and ER patient populations, as well as referral lab specimens for all ages. Our state-of-the-art lab features an automated Core Laboratory design for Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology and Urinalysis. We have expansive Anatomical Pathology, Blood Bank and Microbiology departments and have plans to enhance our Molecular Diagnostics testing in the near future. Our full service STAT Lab is located in the Emergency Care Center in order to better facilitate prompt TATs for our patients.

With over 75% of all hospital diagnostic decisions being based on information provided by a laboratory, the tests performed here are crucial to the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease in our patients. Our scientists utilize sophisticated instruments and technology; Beckman COULTER® LH 755 / 750, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics enGen™ Automation, two VITROS®) 5,1 three VITROS® ECiQ systems, Diagnostica Stago STA-R Evolution®, bioMérieux Vitek®2 and BacT/ALERT 3D systems for testing blood, body fluids and tissue; in order to prompt and accurate information to physicians and medical providers in east Texas.

Medical Assistants

Trinity Mother Frances Medical Assistants primarily work in ambulatory settings, such as Trinity Clinic. Our Medical Assistants function as essential members of the health care delivery team and perform both administrative duties and clinical procedures.

Patient Care Associates

Trinity Mother Frances Patient Care Associates (PCAs) work under the supervision of our caring nursing and medical staff. While PCA responsibilities vary, they often involve assisting patients with bathing, dressing, eating, getting in/out of bed, walking and they may serve patient meals. PCAs maintain the orderliness of patient rooms, respond to patient calls for help and deliver messages. They are occasionally responsible for checking a patient’s blood pressure, pulse or respiration rate and temperature. PCAs may also help provide quality patient care by escorting patients to/from operating and exam rooms.

The Trinity Mother Frances Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation team offers convenient, quality, personalized care to people of all ages throughout east Texas. Our highly skilled, interdisciplinary team consists of athletic trainers, case managers, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians, therapy assistants, speech language pathologists and more. With continuing education opportunities available on-site, we also offer periodic team rotation to assist in professional growth.

Health Information Technicians
Trinity Mother Frances Health Information Technicians conduct health data collection, monitoring, maintenance and reporting activities in accordance with established data quality principles, legal and regulatory standards, and professional best practice guidelines. These functions encompass, among other areas, monitoring electronic and paper-based documentation as well as processing and using health data for billing and reporting purposes through use of various electronic systems.

Medical Coders
Trinity Mother Frances Medical Coders are responsible for documenting the medical services provided to our patients. Every patient encounter is unique, so the medical coder must assign alpha-numeric codes specific to the patient’s symptoms and diagnosis, and identify each procedure and service performed on that patient. From this series of codes the insurance carrier has access to a detailed account of that encounter which ensures that our providers are correctly compensated for the services they have provided.

Patient Account Representatives
Trinity Mother Frances Patient Account Representatives (PARs) work directly with the patient and/or their family members to reconcile issues regarding medical bill(s). PARs are responsible for providing excellent customer service by researching any issues that may arise and delivering timely and accurate information regarding their concern. PARs are also responsible for accurately documenting all communication/correspondence with the patient and/or their family members. 

Trinity Mother Frances Professional and Technical Services supports virtually every area of clinical and hospital operation. These services include corporate strategy, data processing, finance, human resources (benefits and compensation), information systems and marketing. Our Professional and Technical Services team members are familiar with the latest government regulations, process improvement techniques and technology in their field.

Trinity Mother Frances Integrated Services provides support to the health system that is crucial to our successful delivery of compassionate and quality patient. Whether in food service, maintenance, or patient transportation, our Integrated Services team members provide excellent customer service and many use this position as a springboard to another profession in health care.
